West side beaches - National Park Service camping...

Please read this document before visiting Tomales Bay and any national park region.

 
20 permits daily are available each day for boat in camping on national park beaches which begin on the west shore, north of Indian Beach, in Tomales Bay State Park.

$15.00 per nite for 1-6 people

$30.00 per nite for 7-14 people

$40.00 per nite for 15-25 people

Permits may be reserved in three months advance. For example, for May 2nd, the earliest date to call would be February 1st. Reservations are strongly recommended for weekends especially during the summer months and are booked on a first come, first served basis. Each day, five campsites become available for walk in boaters but all other campsites may be reserved.

Reservations may be made in person at any time Bear Valley Visitor Center is open: Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; weekends and holidays 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Telephone reservations: Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm (PST) at (415) 663-8054.

FAX reservations: May be sent anytime but are processed Monday through Friday after 2:00 pm. (415) 464-5194

Mail reservations are not accepted.

All reservations must be paid for at the time they are made. Discover, VISA and Mastercard are accepted. For phone reservations, a check may be sent within seven working days of the date of reservation.

Confirmation notices are mailed for each reservation. The confirmation notice must be converted to a permit at Bear Valley Visitor Center before you begin your trip. Permits are normally issued in-person on the first date of your trip.

Rules
All waste must be removed, no latrines may be dug and no waste may be emptied in to the bay. If you are not carrying a waste disposal system, you must camp at Marshall or Tomales Beaches where chemical toilets are set up.

Boil, treat, or filter any water that is removed from the park.

Quiets hour begin at sunset. Respect your neighbors privacy.

No firearms or fireworks.

Do not feed wildlife. Animals that become accustomed to human food may present a threat to humans and may have to be destroyed.

Fishing is permitted with a valid license and under the laws of the State of California.

No overnight parking at Marshall Beach Trailhead or at Tomales Bay State Park for boat in campers.

Leave only footprints, take only memories.
